PENSACOLA CO-OP IS A COOPERATIVE BUYING CLUB THAT OFFERS VERY AFFORDABLE/DEEPLY DISCOUNTED CERTIFIED
WHO WE ARE:
We are Pensacola, Pensacola Beach, Milton, Pace, Peridio, Orange Beach and Navarre. Friends, neighbors, co-workers and families:)
Pensacola Co-Op's organization, sole decisions, administrative work and financial obligations are made by Tori Rutland. Tori is compensated for her time, energy and efforts with co-op goods.
We purchase our food and it is delivered by Albert's Organics Southern Division of Sarasota, Fl.
ORDERS are placed every 2 weeks; product lists go up Thursdays on our shopping site pensacolacoop.com. Orders must be completed by the following Sunday at 10am. Orders take place on pensacolacoop.com by adding items to your basket in your existing account. To order, you simply leave the items in your basket. Our website does not have a confirm or send button. If you change your mind about ordering then all the items that you have added to your cart must be erased by you by the Sunday 10am deadline. If they are not erased then they are counted towards our collective order and you are obligated to pay for those items.
Members are not required to order in bulk.
Produce is first come, first serve. Our website keeps track of who ordered what first to last, so if by chance a particular item needs to be removed from a cart (s) to even out case numbers then those items come out of the last ones to order that item.
SPECIAL BULK ORDERING:
If you have a bulk ordering need please contact Tori before 10am on Sunday during the initial ordering cycle. We can discuss price and if you'd like to go forward and order then your special order item (s) will be handwritten on the bottom of your final invoice for delivery-Friday.
After our Sunday deadline our collective order will be figured and the website will be updated so EXTRAS can be absorbed. Absorbing will take place on pensacolacoop.com. Everyone will have access to the extras list to add additional items to their cart. Absorbing extras helps to ensure that cases are filled and can be the difference between us ordering an item and not. PLEASE PARTICIPATE IN OUR ABSORBING PROCESS. Once you have added an item to your cart during absorbing it can not be removed.
We have 2-4 rounds of cancellations. The first happens after we initially order to items that didn't gain enough interest to purchase.
The second round of cancellations may happen if certain items are not absorbed. When placing our final order with Albert's Organics--this round of cancellations is due to quality issues, major price increases or unavailability.
Finally, some items may not make it on the truck for delivery-Friday (generally this is a warehouse mistake and doesn't happen often).
The organic produce we order ranges from wholesale to deeply discounted. Prices in the produce world fluctuate from day to day. When pensacolacoop.com is ready for shopping on Thursdays we use the most current price list. By the time we place our final order almost a week later some prices may have increased. Pensacola Co-Op members accept those price increases and trust that leadership will adjust generally up to .75 to $1.00 depending on the item.
Our quality is amazing and our produce is carefully chosen and ordered in such a way to account for freshness and shelf-life. That being said, you may receive produce that needs to be eaten within a few days and you may receive produce that will last 2 weeks if stored properly.
*Members must understand that we are ordering certified organic produce and that bumps, bruises, scars as well as the occasional bad apple or pear in a bag are to be taken in stride. You will not be reimbursed for items you deem unsightly, too soft, too hard, or off-colored.
It is Albert's Organics policy that we accept a percentage of our produce will not be edible ( 20%).
*It is Pensacola Co-Op's policy that if you have an issue with your produce, that you make contact by noon the day after delivery-Friday (Saturday) so that we may discuss the issue and see if it meets requirements for a refund.
Our deliveries always fall on Fridays. We work/volunteer from 11-5.
Our delivery location is 1040 NORTH GUILLEMARD ST., PENSACOLA 32501.
Please bring your own bags to tote your produce home.
You may park along Guillemard Street. We will no longer be parking in the First City Arts parking lot.
DO NOT PARK in front of homes on Gonzalez Street or DeSoto Street. DO NOT PARK in the little lot on De Soto Street across from the big gate. This is private parking for a home/business.
LATE PORCH PICK UPS ARE AVAILABLE (to be picked up after 5:30pm)
If you have made prior arrangements or have an emergency then you may pick up your produce at 1721 North Baylen Street 32501. This is Tori's home and your produce will be on the front porch. **PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST PICK YOUR LATE PORCH PICK UP BY 9AM SATURDAY. NO EXCEPTIONS. Your account will be disabled if you take advantage of late porch pick up by showing up late and not paying promptly.
Payment should be made at the time of pick up (not earlier) by leaving cash, check or using paypal. Please leave the Co-Op bin and your invoice with payment on the porch. Checks are to be written to Tori Rutland and paypal is to email@example.com.
New members pay a $20 new member fee. If membership is maintained then this fee turns into an annual fee and will be charged again on your one year anniversary order with Pensacola Co-Op and each year there after.
Each order has a $5 charge which helps cover the costs of running the club (ink, tape, pencils, paper, printer, bags, tents, tables, etc.)
**Fees are non-refundable whether you participate for one cycle or 100 cycles.
Each member/household MUST place at least one order a month and volunteer 2 hours a month.
Volunteering is the backbone of Pensacola Co-Op. Our buying club (and our prices) would not be possible without the volunteer efforts on delivery-Fridays to unload, organize, weigh, pack, double check and checkout our produce.
**Please note that the majority of volunteering takes place between 11-5 on delivery-Fridays.
DO NOT JOIN PENSACOLACOOP.COM IF YOU CAN NOT VOLUNTEER 2 HOURS A MONTH ON DELIVERY-FRIDAYS.
We use signupgenius.com to help us organize our volunteer efforts. Our volunteer coordinator will contact you the Tuesday before delivery-Friday with the website link so you may sign up for a time that suits your schedule best.
On delivery-Fridays there is also a sign-in sheet at the checkout table. This helps us keep track of members who actually volunteered and it is the log we use to check that members are meeting their monthly volunteer requirements. Please be sure to sign it if you
If you are not volunteering on a particular delivery-Friday then do not come to pick-up your produce until after 2pm.
If you need to take a prolonged leave of absence please send your information to firstname.lastname@example.org. Be sure to include the dates you will be absent from ordering.
Please keep in mind that Pensacola Co-Op is not a retail store. You don't just get to pay your $5 and pick up your discounted organic produce and leave. If you find yourself having trouble volunteering please keep an open dialog with Tori.
IF MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS ARE NOT MET YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE DISABLED.
We are a cooperative buying club. Your produce is paid for ahead of time by Tori Rutland.
We do not use our website to reimburse Tori. Instead, YOU WILL PAY AT CHECK OUT ON DELIVERY-FRIDAY.
We encourage you to pay at pickup rather than before so if any adjustments need to be made to your invoice we can get your total correct in current time.
Paypal payments are to be made to email@example.com (as money sent to friends/family so no fees are attached.)
Checks are made to Tori Rutland. Checks need to be written legibly with the correct date and spellings. If your check is returned for insufficient funds you will be required to reimburse Tori for your invoice plus any bank fees and inconveniences incurred (generally $40).
We accept cash but please note we do not have change at the beginning of the day.
CODE OF CONDUCT:
We are a friendly, hard working group of volunteers. If your behavior/attitude on delivery-Fridays proves to be consistently difficult then Pensacola Co-Op will respond through conversation. If a quick chat doesn't alleviate our/your issues then your account will be disabled.
We have worked long and hard to build a reliable organic food source for our community and decency and respect are a must. We all just simply work too hard to be treated poorly by a fellow member.
Pensacola Co-Op enjoys having your children and you are welcome to bring your children when volunteering, however, if you allow them to run amuck, be a danger to themselves or others or damage produce, you will be asked to leave. If the problem persists then your account will be disabled.
Please do not bring live animals to delivery-Fridays.
Please READ the information we email to you. It is important and as Pensacola Co-Op grows, it changes and so information changes. Everything you need to know will be sent to you before you need to know it. We are very organized and specific in our directions.
Pensacola Co-Op's administration is volunteer-based and we must be able to give our attention to all. If a member requires a disproportionate amount of attention because they refuse to read the information we email then that member's account will be disabled.

OUR ENTIRE COMMUNITY'S PRODUCE IS PAID FOR BY ONE PERSON, TORI RUTLAND, AND IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU REIMBURSE HER WHETHER YOU FORGOT IT WAS DELIVERY-FRIDAY OR NOT, WHETHER YOU'RE IN TOWN OR OUT OR WHETHER YOU ORDERED ONE ITEM OR 100. IF YOU LEFT IT IN YOUR BASKET ON PENSACOLACOOP.COM THEN IT WAS COUNTED TOWARDS OUR COLLECTIVE ORDER AND MUST BE PAID FOR.
If you do not pay for your order then your account at pensacolacoop.com will be disabled indefinitely.
